Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Locus platform, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are using Locus on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.

2. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Notify us immediately at security@example.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You must be at least 18 years of age to use the platform.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Locus only for lawful property management and real estate activities. You may not use the platform to store or transmit malicious code, violate fair housing laws, or engage in discriminatory practices.

4. Subscription & Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected. You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial periods.

5. Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of all data you upload to Locus, including property listings, tenant information, financial records, and documents. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

6. Service Availability

We target 99.9% uptime for the Locus platform. Scheduled maintenance windows are communicated 48 hours in advance. We are not liable for downtime caused by factors beyond our reasonable control.

7. Limitation of Liability

Locus is provided 'as is' without warranty of any kind. Our total liability for any claim arising from use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. Upon termination, you may export your data within 30 days. After 30 days, we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County.
